Does Starfield Have a Physical Disc on Launch?

New rumours have began to circulate that Starfield won’t have a physical disc on launch, but how true are the rumours?

Bethesda Support recently shared a tweet on Twitter hinting at the possibility that Starfield could be exclusively available in digital format without a physical disc. The now-deleted tweet has led rumours to circulate online, with fans disappointed about the potential news. However, an earlier tweet from the Spanish Bethesda Twitter account in June has contradicts the latest information.

“All physical editions include a code for the chosen platform. There are no physical discs”, the now deleted Tweet said. But on June 13, the Spanish Bethesda Twitter account revealed, “It depends on the edition. For example, the standard has a disc, while the Constellation Edition has a code engraved on a collector’s item, which you can see in the image.”

Due to today’s Twee being deleted, we’re inclined to believe that it was a mistake on behalf of Bethesda and we’re likely to see clarification in the coming days.

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Starfield is an eagerly awaited action role-playing game. Unveiled during Bethesda’s E3 presentation in 2018, this game marks Bethesda’s first venture into a new intellectual property in more than 25 years. Set in a captivating space-themed environment, Starfield has generated significant anticipation among gamers and fans alike.

Starfield is scheduled to be released on September 6, 2023, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S.

We’ll update this articles if Bethesda offers any additional clarification.
