In some breaking news, it has been confirmed that all of the 16 original maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 will be returning in this year’s Modern Warfare 3 on launch.
The fan-favorite maps are:
- Afghan
- Derail
- Estate
- Favela
- Highrise
- Invasion
- Karachi
- Quarry
- Rundown
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Skidrow
- Sub Base
- Terminal
- Underpass
- Wasteland
It’s a welcome sign (and honestly a huge nostalgia trip) for most old-school Call of Duty fans. Modern Warfare 2 (2009) wasn’t known for its balance, but become a fan-favorite because of its fun factor. Of which the maps played a huge and crucial part in that.
It’s currently unclear on whether or not the game will launch with any original maps built from the ground up.
Modern Warfare 3 is set to officially be revealed on August 17 in Warzone, with Activision already confirming the game will release on November 10, 2023.
