PlayStation has released a new story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which includes a fresh new look at Peter Parker and some new teases on what to expect this September!
The official YouTube trailer description reads, “We’re going to heal the world. The Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, enter new chapters in their lives as they balance their responsibilities as protectors of Marvel’s New York. As Harry Osborn, Peter’s best friend, returns into his life, and Miles looks to build his future beyond high school, the relationship between our heroes is tested and strained as the Symbiote appears to threaten them, the city, and the ones they love. Developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games and PlayStation, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues the saga of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise.”
Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.
Marvel’s Spider-Man achieved remarkable success with 3.3 million units sold within the initial three days of its release. This feat secured its position as Sony’s fastest-selling first-party video game, narrowly surpassing the record set by God of War, which had sold 3.1 million units. By November 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man had surpassed the 9 million mark in physical and digital unit sales worldwide.
As of May 2022, the cumulative sales for the series has skyrocketed to 33 million units, solidifying its position as one of the most beloved and commercially successful video game franchises in recent years.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is anticipated to pull in similar numbers, but we’ll likely have to wait some months after release to know how well the game performed.
